Extracted from seeds like Sunflower, Sesame, Groundnut, Mustard among others, cold pressed oils are essentially extracted without use of heat, thereby retaining the flavor, nutritional value and natural properties of the oil. The process involves crushing seeds to express oil through pressure and is one of the oldest known techniques of extraction. This method was in use several hundred years ago as well, when bullock cart driven ‘ghani presses’ were used.
